When OPPO announced that Lee Min-ho is one of the brand ambassadors for the R9S, you might have an impression that the smartphone must be quite good for such a huge superstar to sign on. Under the tagline “Now, it’s Clear”, this phone boasts high-end image clarity with its 16MP Sony IMX398 sensor + Dual PDAF technology, but is it really as clear as it claims to be? OPPO R9S has finally come to Malaysia, although not entirely a new one, but Malaysia OPPO fans will get to see the new camera phone featuring 16MP camera on both sensors with an all-new Dual PDFA technology; the design is a bit different too with the "six-string" antenna design. Today, OPPO has released the long awaited OPPO R9S smartphone in Malaysia and fans get to taste the all new camera phone featuring 16MP rear camera, alongside an all-new Dual PDFA technology and extra-wide f/1.7 aperture. In addition, Lee Min-ho (no appearance) together with Fattah were also revealed as the ambassadors of R9s. Without further ado, below are the official specifications:

All set for a launch on 5 January 2017, OPPO Malaysia may have revealed who the new ambassador for the OPPO R9s will be. Turns out, it could be South Korean actor Lee Min Ho who was recently spotted on the set of the OPPO R9s TV commercial with OPPO ambassador Min Chen.

Not only we will see one company launch their popular mid-tier smartphone, OPPO is also set to launch a model at the same time. The brand will be launching their OPPO R9s and possibly the R9s Plus locally in an event set to happen on the 5th of January.

A new family member has joined the Oppo family under the R series – the new Oppo R9s. Two models were introduced in the family line – the R9s and the R9s Plus, with the latter having a larger physical size, as well as RAM up to 6GB.  

On 19 October 2016, the new OPPO R9s will make an appearance in China and it's the official successor to the R9. Invitations were already been sent out to various China media members, showing a new Sony IMX398 sensor indicating that the smartphone is focusing on the camera.

As OPPO continues to progress steadily in the smartphone industry, it looks like a new successor to the OPPO R9 - the R9S which is coming to China on 12 September 2016.
